Depression

Depression may be experienced in a wide variety of overwhelming emotions, which can leave you feeling down. Things that you used to enjoy just don’t feel so great anymore. It can feel as if nothing is worth doing…or as if you don’t have the energy, feeling flat and exhausted pretty much all of the time.

Trying to maintain a relationship with others is sometimes difficult when you constantly feel like ‘the problem’. All your energy disappears on keeping yourself going, there is very little left for anyone else. When you spend time with others, it is a struggle to be present because of your own feelings.

When you feel down, it’s harder to think clearly or logically, this is because a depressed brain is a stressed brain. Depressed people also have higher than normal levels of the stress hormone cortisol in their bloodstream, which is why calming down and relaxing is so important. When your brain is stressed, you simply can’t think properly.

Hypnotherapy, which has been significantly researched to show success with treating depression, will gently help you relax, giving you more mental control over thoughts, mood and emotions. This will in turn lift the depression so you can begin to enjoy mental and emotional wellbeing.
