Letting  Go of Anger

Anger is a natural emotion. It alerts us to threats and unwanted feelings, but if you are experiencing this emotion too frequently and losing control over your behaviour or the ability to think clearly, this can become a serious problem. This destructive behaviour can have a negative impact on your relationships with family, friends, and colleagues as well as damaging your own heath. Recent scientific studies have found that frequent anger outbursts can lead to anxiety, heart disease and hypertension. The by-product of anger can lead to making further negative health choices like smoking, to either prevent or recover.

There are a number of ways of managing anger in the short term. These include relocating to a different environment- preferably outdoors; deep breathing; writing it all down; and flushing out the stress hormones with exercise are also beneficial. But these may not always be practical in the heat of the moment.

By working on an unconscious level, hypnotherapy manages the triggers which cause anger. CBT and mindfulness give you the coping strategies to become calmer and more relaxed, in situations which might have caused you to flare up in the past.
